Experience Energy

Electronic Literature

Electronic literature is twenty-first- century literature. It is “born digital”-- made on computer and read on the computer. Electronic literature is electronic at its core, generated from digital information and from electronic voltage differences. The subject of scholarship, museum exhibitions, and online journals, electronic literature is an important international artform.

This proposal enhances the Common Experience by introducing electronic literature to SDSU through a yearlong reading series that brings to campus writers of electronic literature and also a plan to foster the creation of electronic literature at SDSU through a hands-on learning workshop in making electronic literature and a competition with a cash award for the best student-built work. Together we will “Experience Energy”-- both electric energy and literary energy-- in innovative and exciting ways.
