Know Your Food series

The Know your Food series, sponsored by Slow Food SDSU, will be an engaging and integrative monthly series comprised of educational dialogue, workshops, and on-campus events centered on the theme of food. Each month we plan to host an event that will bring students, staff, faculty, and members of our community closer together to foster critical thought and conversation about how food is produced, consumed, and disposed of in San Diego and, how it fits into our global agricultural system. We strive to create unique and intriguing experiences by partnering with local farmers, community organizers, and civic leaders. Events part of the monthly series will cover topics such as cooking and eating healthy foods, budgeting for a healthy produce, the meaning of eating locally, food insecurity, how foods are transported globally, and the human connection found around food.
