Exhibit: Every Which Way
The SDSU Downtown Gallery present an exhibition, titled Every Which Way, comprised of artwork created by faculty and students from the School of Art + Design, examining movement through multiple disciplines and interpretations. From our perspective, movement encompasses a broad range of opportunity and possibility, from kinetic art and works that convey the notion of movement to how social and political movements inform particular genres and approaches of art- making practice. In addition to works on display in the exhibition, we will host a series of pop-up public programs throughout the run of the exhibition, creating a multi-sensory experience. These programs will encompass cross-campus collaboration, as well as bring in outside voices from the community to interact with our visitors and audience.
Event - Opening Reception
Join us to celebrate the opening of Every Which Way with special guest, DJ Mike Turi. Attendees can mix and mingle with artists, while they enjoy a curated selection of tunes highlighting popular musical movements from the 1950s – 2000s.
Lecture - Borderclick Tijuana / San Diego: a digital living archive exploring complexities of the transfronterizo experience
Lecturer will share experiences and insights into how San Diego’s border with Tijuana influences artwork, social practice, and the cultures of both cities. In partnership with Borderclick, an initiative created by Rebecca Goldschmidt and Vanessa Falcon, M.S. (Graduate Candidate, SDSU/CGU Joint Doctoral Program in Education).
